It has been very busy term learning about Victorian Britain. Year 2 children have learnt what it would have been like as a Victorian school child, working down a mine and up a chimney. They had a wonderful day dressing up as a Victorian child and visiting Edington School Rooms. The children thoroughly enjoyed participating in Victorian style lessons!
William Morris' wallpaper was an inspiration which led to the class creating their own wall paper based on his original pieces. The class created a wonderful hall display using their own designs.
The class have learnt how incredible Isambard Kingdom Brunel was as a designer and engineer. They've learnt so many interesting facts about his life, visited Bristol, seen the Clifton Suspension Bridge and dined on the SS Great Britain.
Wow! Year 2 children certainly looked and acted the part during our 'Superhero Day.'The day was packed with lots of exciting activities which the children immersed in. They baked superhero biscuits, then iced these creatively; they designed and created a superhero hand puppet, it was amazing to see the patience and concentration whilst sewing these! Some children created their own comic strips, built a superhero city and participated in a training regime to become a fit and healthy Superhero!
