Work for Thursday 14th January
The timetable I will be following in school, for you to use as a guide is as follows:
9.15-10 Literacy. Please watch the input lesson. The children will need the literacy 4 worksheet. I have saved this as a PDF that you could print, or alternatively I have uploaded it as a worksheet on Dojo, where you will be able to complete it online. Children may need access to a dictionary or the internet to look up the definitions of unknown words. As an extension to this, children can use their notes to write full sentences using conjunctions to join their adjective to their explanation. E.g. Tranio is a curious boy as he is interested in watching the boats being unloaded.
10-10.30 Guided Reading. I have saved a copy of the text on the class page of the website. You only need Chapter 4 for this lesson and children can read it on screen or as a printed off copy if you wish. I have also uploaded a video of myself reading the text which children can read along with. There are some questions to think about as they are reading/ listening and then questions for them to answer in full sentences. This can either be written on lined paper, or typed on to Dojo. You only need to do session 4 today.
Make sure you have a break and try and move about or get some exercise!
11-11.45- Maths. Please watch the input lesson, it is continuing with the learning objective from yesterday, calculating missing lengths to then work out the perimeter of rectilinear shapes. Children will need the guided work worksheet to use as they are watching. If you have time after, please choose one of the worksheets to complete based on how confident your child is feeling. The guided sheet is the priority to complete. Please stop after 45 minutes-1 hour. The maths sheets will need to be printed and completed rather than being able to be completed on Dojo as they need to draw shapes with ruler. If you can, try to print both pages on one A4 page.
11.45-12- Mental Maths. Practice your times tables and linking division. You could use some of the links I have put in the folder on our class page.
Have a long break- at least and hour and please try and move around again and get some exercise.
French: I have uploaded a video from Mrs James, who teaches our French lesson. She would like you to try and have a little conversation with someone at home. I have also added a link which supports the video.
Afternoon- PE. PE with Miss Lintern is back! Again, please don't laugh! It is carrying on from last week, building up to children performing each activity for longer.
