24/2/21

Wednesday 24th February

Below is a timetable for you to use as a guide:

Literacy: This week we are focusing on poetry, using poems written by Josh Seigal. The first poem is a nonsense poem and a bit of fun! It is called Silime and after you have read it you will hopefully be able to work out why! Watch the video and then have a go at writing your own. I have also uploaded the PowerPoint with a copy of the poem and the task.

Guided Reading. This week Guided Reading is based around facts about the Roman invasion of Britain. Read the extract of text and then answer Day 1 questions in full sentences.

Break- Keep active and gets some fresh air. There are lots of exercises you can choose from in the NetFlex folder.

Maths. We are continuing with our work on money, working towards using the four operations to problem solve. Please watch the lesson input, you will need your guided work sheet to work on while you are watching. Then chose one or two of the activities to have a go at, independently if possible.

Spellings. Practice the spelling rules for your new list of spellings.

Lunch- Have at least an hour and again try to get some fresh air and move about!

Times Table practice. We used the games in the Times Table Games folder to practice for our MMO test tomorrow.

Topic. This week I would like you to carry out some research in to Roman Gods. You can use books, the internet and I have uploaded a PowerPoint which will give you some information as well. I would then like you to create fact cards, in the style of top trump cards about each God. I have uploaded a template, but you can create your own if you would prefer. I would like you to really put a lot of effort in to these so spend todays lesson and Fridays lesson researching and creating them!
