We had a whole school day with The Mighty Zulu Nation- a theatre company from Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. All year groups watched the company showcase their incredible singing, dancing and drumming skills. Each year group then took part in workshops, which taught them traditional African songs and dances. Parents of Catcott joined us in the afternoon and watched their children perform traditional African dances alongside the company. It was a powerful, multi-cultural hands-on experience that gave our pupils the opportunity to experience the vibrant culture of the Zulu people as well as creating an opportunity for community cohesion and cultural diversity awareness.
