Headteacher's Letter

Dear Parents,

After our rapid move to home and school based learning last week, hopefully this week we have all had an opportunity to settle into our new learning methods and established a few routines.

Firstly, I would to like to congratulate all the children on their positive attitudes, adaptability and super effort with their studies. The Teachers have been so impressed with the children’s engagement with their school work whether they are based in school or at home.

We would also like to thank all the parents who are helping support their children with their home based learning. This is not easy especially if you are also trying to manage your own work commitments. We appreciate that this is incredibly challenging, so please do not hesitate to ask for support or further assistance from your child’s class Teacher.

For those families doing home based learning, we ask that you please keep in touch regularly with your child’s Teacher. The Teachers are trying to provide regular feedback to the children on their Maths and English work and hopefully the videos and instructions are not only helping the children learn but also making them feel connected to their class and school. We also hope this method of working is also enabling flexibility within families who may need to juggle multiple users of devices, fit educational support times around your work or adapt lessons times so siblings can coexist.

This week we are re-starting our ‘Celebration of Excellence’ certificates to highlight the children who have excelled whether at home or school - postcards will be dispatched shortly!

I hope you have a pleasant weekend and wish you well.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs H Farnie
