Catcott is a small village on the Polden Hills, located just over 10 minutes outside of Bridgwater, but everyone is always surprised just how big our school is! We are all about bringing together our beautiful outdoor environment and a modern set of skills that will help children in their future lives.
We do this by ensuring that every class spends an afternoon a week outside – whatever the weather – learning about their local environment. The experiences are many and varied and could be shelter building or natural art, weaving or mini-beast hunting.
We have 3 international link schools (in Kenya, China and France) and these form a key part of our curriculum. Our children exchange emails and letters with students from other parts of the world. We’ve hosted foreign teachers and we even have an annual two-week pupil exchange with our French partners!
Learning in every year group is built around creative topics - blocks of interrelated learning, which bring it alive for children. These are added to by some of our excellent additional activities – including our theme weeks and 3 residential experiences.
And of course our children are also great readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, musicians and athletes too! We can even offer wrap around care from 08:00 – 17:30 daily through our Breakfast and After School Clubs.
We are proud of everything we do here at Catcott and we’d love you to come and find out more about our school at our Open Day on 28th September.
