Grammar 11.2.21

Independent Writing

Continue with your writing today. Think about your editing as well: are you someone who needs to edit little and often, perhaps after a couple of sentences? Or are you someone who edits a paragraph at a time.

Editing involves a lot. But as a focus, think about punctuation first. Have you got all your capital letters correct? Do you need to check for commas in sentences, particularly if you've started a sentence with a conjunction word (as, although, however etc). Have you tried some bit more advanced bits of punctuation?

Then, edit for improvement. Have you used the best vocabulary possible? Are your choices working? Do you need to restructure some sentences? Do you need to edit in some extra bits? Do you need to edit out unnecessary information (or dare I say, waffle)?

Give it your best go!
