Sometimes it might be more efficient for us to compare two fractions using common numerators. Lowest common denominator comparisons will always work, so long as you have the method, you will always be able to make an accurate comparison.
However, sometimes (key work here) we can use our knowledge and understanding of fractions and some quick mental operations to make judgements about them by adjusting the numerator of one of them. Watch the video below and fill out the guidance sheet as you go along.
