Message from the Oak Class Team

Welcome to Oak Class!

Year 1 and 2 is such an exciting time, full of fun, new friendships, and inspiring topics!

This year we will go on an adventure-packed trip to Lyme Regis, discover the legend of King Arthur in History, and shine brightly on stage in our Christmas production.

Every day is a chance to learn, grow, and make happy memories together in our safe, caring classroom.
We can’t wait to share this amazing year with you!

Our Learning

Homework

Whilst our classes are full of learning and development, a few minutes each day at home on tasks such as reading and maths can have a huge impact. We ask each of our children to do the following each week:

• Daily reading
• Numbots - Maths game for 10 minutes 5 times a week.
• Spelling - tested weekly on a Monday

Key Dates

PE is on Monday (with teachers)  and Thursday (with Coaches). All children to wear PE kit and house colour t shirt.

Trip

Our school trip this year is to Lyme Regis to study the works of Mary Anning on 20th May 2026.
